Peterborough closed the gap to League One leaders Leicester to nine points as they recovered from going a goal down in the first half to beat Scunthorpe 2-1.

Henri Lansbury had put the Iron ahead but goals from Chris Whelpdale and Craig Mackail-Smith gave Darren Ferguson's men a vital win.

Third-placed MK Dons could only post a 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield allowing Millwall to draw level with them on points following a 1-0 win over Northampton.

Leeds moved up to fifth with a 4-0 win over Yeovil which featured a Jermaine Beckford hat-trick and a goal from Neil Kilkenny.

A brace from Lee Barnard and a late goal from Theo Robinson gave Southend a 3-1 win over Brighton who replied through Lloyd Owusu.

Leyton Orient won by the same margin at Carlisle as Charlie Daniels, Scott McGleish and Simon Church put them 3-0 up before Scott Dobie responded for the Cumbrians.

Two goals from Clive Platt and a strike from David Perkins gave Colchester a 3-2 win over Swindon who notched a Simon Cox penalty and a goal from Hal Robson-Kanu.

Rickie Lambert bagged a hat-trick as Bristol Rovers won 3-0 away at Hereford.

Leon McSweeney and James Vincent were the scorers for Stockport as they beat Hartlepool 2-1. Michael Mackay responded for Pools.

Steven Schumacher scored in injury time to rescue a 1-1 draw for Crewe against Walsall who had taken the lead through Troy Deeney.
