Sheffield United striker Jamie Ward has been called up into the full Northern Ireland squad for the first time.

The 22-year-old, signed from Chesterfield for £333,000 in January, has been named in Nigel Worthington's squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Poland and Slovenia at Windsor Park.

Ward, who scored a last-minute winner for the Blades at Southampton in his second appearance for Kevin Blackwell's side, has yet to make his first start, but has stepped off the substitutes' bench on seven occasions.
