Johnson: Weale needs regular action

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has explained his decision to allow goalkeeper Chris Weale to rejoin his former club Yeovil on a month's loan.

Weale joined the Robins from the Somerset club in 2006 on a free transfer and, after just 14 appearances in two-and-a-half years, has now returned to Huish Park.

"Chris desperately needs games and I don't have any reserve games to play him in regularly," Johnson told City`s official website.

"It is a good time for Yeovil as they need a keeper. Chris needs games and we need him to be playing so it works out well for everyone concerned.

"It is only for a month and if we need to recall him then there is scope for it."
