One WrestleMania 33 match was all but confirmed earlier this week on Monday Night RAW when Roman Reigns interrupted The Undertaker, and ate a Chokeslam for his efforts.

The match had been rumoured for a few months, and the first big tease was dropped at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view when The Big Dog eliminated The Deadman, and many are hoping that Reigns makes a full heel turn in the build-up to their match.

RAW SEGMENT

However, the segment first started in a strange way on Monday night, after Braun Strowman called out Reigns after claiming he got lucky when Reigns bested strawman when they met 24 hours earlier at the Raw-exclusive Fastlane event.

That was until he was interrupted by The Undertaker.

Based on Strowman’s characteristics, you’d assume that he’d take his anger out on The Undertaker, especially before WrestleMania.

That didn’t happen, though, as he backed away and exited through the crowd without getting into a verbal or physical confrontation – something we’re used to seeing with Strowman’s booking.

Although, the WWE reportedly have a very good reason for playing it out in that fashion.

According to IWNerd, they had Strowman back away as Vince McMahon wanted to tease a future match between The Undertaker and Strowman.

RESPECT

Before Reigns’ name even came into the fold, it was speculated that Strowman would be meeting The Deadman in Orlando on April 2 but the company decided against it, for now anyway.

The nod seems to be a key factor in this well, as they’re claiming that it was a sign of respect to The Phenom, not that he was running away from a fight, which makes sense as WWE could have easily set-up the match with Reigns on RAW without Strowman involved at all.

Strowman has shown a lot of improvement in his in-ring work, so it comes as no surprise that officials are high on him and even though he may not be in a marquee match at WrestleMania, you can bet he’ll be a name fans are talking about after the event.

It might be a risk going up against The Phenom right now, but if his consistently strong booking continues on the red brand, then it may be a feud WWE cannot afford to miss out.

If Vince has his way, expect The Undertaker to meet The Monster Among Men at some point down the line.
