Barcelona's 6-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday was undoubtedly the comeback of all comebacks.

Losing 4-0 from the first leg, even the Catalans' own supporters would have reserved some doubts at seeing their club become the first team in Champions League history to recover from a four-goal deficit and progress into the next round.

But with a frontline of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, Barca can make even the seemingly impossible, possible.

The effects of that first leg defeat in Paris just a few weeks previously were so damaging Luis Enrique revealed he would be stepping down as manager at the end of the season.

We just weren't used to seeing Enrique's side capitulate quite so dramatically and with a four-goal lead, you can forgive PSG's players for feeling confident going into the reverse fixture.

It may have even been the biggest result of many of their careers and they didn't waste any time in celebrating their success on social media.

Even their friends and close family got involved - all at Barca's expense.

Of course, the Spanish side were well aware of all this mockery and Jeremy Mathieu has revealed just how the dressing room reacted to their opponent's boasts.

Even though Mathieu can understand why PSG were so pleased, their celebrations made Barcelona 'very angry'.

"They're young and I think they lacked humility," Mathieu told RMC, as per ESPN.

"In football, things change quickly, and it came back to haunt them. You have to wait for the end of both 90-minute matches. There wasn't only them. You can be happy to win 4-0, but you have to stay humble. A little message is fine, but there is still a second leg. You mustn't get carried away,

"When you have gone through to the next round, you can put out a few little things, but for me, it was a lack of respect. I can tell you the dressing room was very angry about that."

"Even the wives of the players, such as Marquinhos (who posted a photo of her showing four fingers with her dog) Those are the little things that really annoyed the dressing room and that's why we really, really wanted to pull off the 'remontada' [comeback]"

An injury prevented Mathieu from taking part in the second leg but he still featured in the various post-match selfies.

The Frenchman was even forced to clear up his own photo faux pas after raising his middle finger in one of the behind the scenes images to emerge.

He added: "It was just a silly little thing.

"It was Mascherano's mobile phone, he posted the wrong photo. If you look at those of [Luis] Suarez and [Ivan] Rakitic, they put the same one and I don't have my middle finger raised.

"Mascherano made a mistake, we talked about it this morning, and I told him to look when he posts something, because I knew it would kick up a fuss."
