Celtic went into today’s Old Firm derby as the overwhelming favourites - and Brendan Rodgers side were on course to secure all three points thanks to Stuart Armstrong’s first-half goal.

The Bhoys dominated possession at Celtic Park but their failure to put the game to bed ultimately cost them.

In the 87th minute, up popped Clint Hill, who equalised from close range after Craig Gordon could only parry Emerson Hyndman’s strike.

The unexpected equaliser sent the Rangers fans wild.

Celtic might be 33(!) points above them in the Scottish Premiership table, but this felt as good as a victory to the Gers.

Rangers' players went nuts after equalising

Hill celebrated in the back of the Celtic net and was joined by ex-Celtic star Kenny Miller. The rest of their teammates, meanwhile, ran off towards the pocket of Rangers fans sat in the corner of the stadium.

The camera zoomed into Hill and Miller and eagle-eyed viewers noticed the Celtic ball girl sitting behind the goal produced a very amusing reaction.

She can be seen screaming something at the Rangers pair - and it certainly doesn’t look like she was congratulating them.

Celtic are going to win the SPL - but this is Rangers' day

Despite their frustrating draw today, Celtic are going to win the SPL title.

Their closest challengers are second-placed Aberdeen, who sit a massive 25 points behind Rodgers’ men.

But today belongs to Rangers.

"We've been questioned by pundits all week - 'we're going to be weak' and all this garbage,” Hill was quoted as saying by BBC Sport after the match.

Martyn Waghorn added: ”It's disappointing we conceded the goal but great character from the boys. It's all about building on what we achieved today. It's disappointing for myself that I had two one-on-ones. But there was work rate, determination and we showed what a great set of lads we've got."
