UFC fight night Brazil gave a night of knock outs, but arguably the most brutal came away from the main event.Kelvin Gastelum may have been the headliner at the show, but it was Edson Barboza who stole the spot light with his brutal victory.

Down for the count

Barboza took just two rounds to dispatch Beneil Dariush but his final blow was the killer as he delivered a brutal flying knee to the head of Dariush.

That ended the contest and ensured another victory for Barboza who is well on his way to earning a shot at the Lightweight title.

Saturday's crowd in Fortaleza bore witness to the Brazil native's brutal finish and it was later shared on social media.

The footage of the final blow was picked up by FOX Sports and they tweeted their analysis with the video providing just how bad the hit sounded to those in attendance.

Barboza has become known as somewhat of a human highlight reel and Saturday's knock out is just another to add to his film.

What made the finish so surprising was that Dariush had fared well in the first round, seemingly having the perfect game plan to defeat the Brazilian.

Barboza struggled to find his feet in the first round but once the bell rang in the second, he instantly looked more comfortable and was able to claim his victory.

The referee rushed in to stop the fight following the hit on Dariush and now it looks like a chance to fight for the Lightweight belt could soon be on the horizon for Barboza.

Climbing the ranks

Barboza's win on Saturday was his third straight and with his past victories coming against ranked fighters or former champions, he seems to be a name that can't be ignored.

Speaking after the fight, Barboza would claim:

"I think I'm ready for the belt."

His credentials as a champion may yet be tested but the UFC surely cannot continue to ignore Junior as he knocks on the door of a title shot.

Barboza is currently ranked fifth amongst Lightweight's in the UFC and is refusing to be ignored given his impressive string of knock outs.

With Champion Conor McGregor and fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson ahead of him, his path to the title could prove difficult.
