With Chelsea 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, the title race appears to be well and truly over.

It would take an incredible collapse from Antonio Conte’s side to fail to win the league now - with them occupying first place since before Christmas.

And it’s a similar story in terms of the PFA Player of the Year. One man is leading the running for the individual award come the end of the season and it would be a massive shock not to see him pick up the prized asset.

That man is, of course, N’Golo Kante.

The midfielder has been sensational since arriving from champions Leicester last summer and is rated as 1/3 on by many bookmakers to be crowned as PFA Player of the Year at the end of the season.

And it’s not hard to see why.

Kante is probably the best defensive midfielder in Europe right now and his ability to win the ball and break up attacks from opponents allows the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Diego Costa to flourish.

But, in truth, Kante plays in a position that simply isn’t recognised by many football fans. He’s scored just twice since arriving in England - once for Leicester and once for Chelsea - but it’s certainly no coincidence that he's set to win the Premier League for two different clubs in consecutive campaigns.

While his work during matches may go relatively unnoticed, a YouTube video has emerged of his highlights from this season.

The 10-minute clip shows Kante winning the ball back on countless occasions to start attacks for his side, as well as his passing ability - which is an underrated attribute of his.

It certainly proves that he fully deserves to get his hands of the PFA Player of the Year Award at the end of the campaign.

Kante's compilation

Take a look:

While playing alongside Kante must be an absolute joy, Eden Hazard has highlighted one negative about it - the fact that it makes him lazy.

The Belgian has been given more freedom to attack in Conte’s 3-4-3 but is still expected to perform some defensive duties when the opponent are on the attack. However, with Kante more often than not breaking up that attack instantly, Hazard sometimes relies on the Frenchman a bit too much.

Hazard is lazy with Kante

"We have to work, even if he (Kante) is one of the best players in his position," Hazard said.

"We have to defend, because the manager wants that.

"(But) it’s true sometimes we say 'I don’t defend now, because N’Golo is there'".

"If we have to do a marathon – he will win for sure. He can run 10 hours. I can run 10 metres, then I’m tired."

According to the bookmakers, if Kante doesn’t win the PFA Player of the Year Award it will be his teammate Hazard picking it up.

Either way, it looks like it will be Chelsea winning the league and a Chelsea player winning the Player of the Year award.

And, after watching the above video, our vote goes to Kante.
