Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson refused to get carried away despite seeing his side continue their late surge towards the play-offs with a 3-0 win over Rochdale at Saltergate.
A goal in either half from top scorer Jack Lester and a late third from Gregor Robertson gave the Spireites an emphatic victory over their second-placed visitors.
"It is set up quite nicely for us now and we have got the momentum going, although we can't get carried away," Richardson said. "I think we got a little bit of luck at times but maybe we earned that with our first-half performance when I thought we were by far the better side. We could have been further in front at half-time and Jack Lester was on fire."
He added: "He can produce goals out of nothing and he is a great asset for us. We make sure we look after him, he is a special player at this level so we do try to cotton-wool him a bit because he can play like he has here."
