Usually when a superstar leaves the WWE, the company does a great job of making sure there’s almost no reference of them whatsoever.

Whether that’s by mentioning them by name on weekly programming, the merchandise they sell or other content they upload, you rarely hear about them again.

SNUBBING PUNK

In fact, it happens more when a star has left in controversial circumstances and the biggest one that comes to mind is none other than CM Punk.

CM Punk is still widely adored by WWE fans and for a while, the company ensured the chants didn’t hijack their shows.

That was until they decided to counter the chants by publicly slamming the former WWE Champion and poking fun at his disastrous UFC debut where he lost in two minutes and 14 seconds to Mickey Gall.

Regardless of the public mentions, WWE are still doing what they can to erase him from their history and their latest attempt at doing so is perhaps the funniest yet.

WWE still have a poll up on their official website, which you can visit by clicking here, and it’s asking fans to choose their favourite Undertaker WrestleMania match as he prepares to battle Roman Reigns this year in Orlando.

POLL

Fans have the option to pick from every single WrestleMania match he’s had, ranging from the late Jimmy Snuka which started the streak, his WrestleMania 19 clash against A-Train and The Big Show, as well as the night Brock Lesnar conquered the streak to become the one in what is now 23-1.

However, if you scroll down or view the screenshot below, you can still vote for his match at WrestleMania 29 – but they’ve completely removed CM Punk’s name from the options.

Usually, when you cast your vote it shows you what the current results are. Obviously, WWE weren’t going to risk doing that this time as the chants alone suggest that CM Punk would be in the lead. Instead, they’re telling fans that the matches with the most votes will be shown on the Network on March 27.

Let’s be honest, though, they’re not going to pick The Deadman’s match with CM Punk as one of the winners.

It does seem like a childish move on WWE’s part, as fans can quickly Google the event and find out it was CM Punk before voting for it.

Perhaps if they opted to include Punk’s name, fans wouldn’t be forced to pick that as the option. If the company can get petty, that won’t stop the fans doing the same to counter their efforts.
