The conflict between Shane McMahon and AJ Styles took on a much more brutal form on Tuesday Night as the Phenomenal One targeted the Smackdown Commissioner.

Following their backstage altercation after Smackdown went off the air last week, Styles began Smackdown this week in the ring with a strong message for the Commissioner.

Styles would run through a list of what he feels are the reasons he deserves to be in the main event at WrestleMania.

Referencing his impressive 2016 achievements, the controversial finish to the #1 contenders battle royal several weeks ago and his win over Luke Harper to earn the right to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, Styles had plenty to say.

Styles would Question Smackdown's opportunities and even claiming that he will be having a conversation with McMahon with regards his future - and if he even has one.

That would lead to Styles spending the show waiting in the parking lot area for the arrival of the Commissioner.

Whilst it was clear that Styles was riled up, it looked like no-one could have expected what he would do when he finally saw McMahon.

Launching a savage attack on the Smackdown Commissioner and even driving him head first through a car window, Styles seemed to throw his Smackdown career away in one move.

That idea was confirmed later in the show, when he was confronted by General Manager Daniel Bryan.

Bryan would promptly fire Styles there and then and have him removed from the building by an accompanying security force.

It wouldn't end there though as McMahon himself would come to the arena following the main event between the Usos and American Alpha to make a big announcement.

Seemingly setting up a WrestleMania match with Styles, McMahon's announcement was met by cheers from the fans but questions from Daniel Bryan later on Talking Smack.

A questionable call

While McMahon has announced the match that fans have been expecting for several months, Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan was less thrilled.

Bryan would claim that he would have to talk to McMahon about the match as he didn't believe that the Smackdown Commissioner was in the right frame of mind to make any WrestleMania matches.

Referencing his slurred speech and generally injured nature, Bryan seemed sceptical about McMahon's ability to think given the brutal ambush by Styles.

With two more episodes of Smackdown until WrestleMania, it remains to be seen just how Styles and McMahon will handle the fallout of their altercations next week.
