Agbonlahor handed England call-up

England coach Fabio Capello has sought to ease a growing striker crisis by handing a surprise call-up to Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Darren Bent limped out of training this morning to reduce Capello's options for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine still further, following the injury withdrawals of Carlton Cole and Emile Heskey after Saturday's victory over Slovakia.

That left just Peter Crouch - who Capello has confirmed will start at Wembley - to fill the advanced berth usually occupied by Heskey.

So Capello has turned to Agbonlahor, despite the fact the youngster withdrew from the England Under-21 squad last week with an apparent injury problem.
