On-loan Preston midfielder Lee Williamson admits he was delighted to swap struggling Watford for the play-off chasing Lilywhites.

The 26-year-old, who has made 38 appearances for the Hornets this term, has joined Preston on loan until the end of the season.

He said: "I know I've made the right decision. Preston have got everything to play for, and that's what's made my mind up."

He added: "I've been playing for most of the season at Watford but got injured and the manager there decided to put a couple of young players in the middle and they've done well.

"He's made it clear that he's going to stick with them for the rest of the season and it's frustrating not to be involved, so that's why I've taken the chance to come here."
