Championship tougher than top flight - Jaidi

Published Add your comment

Birmingham defender Radhi Jaidi has admitted he feels more comfortable playing in the Premier League than in the Championship.

Alongside Martin Taylor, Jaidi was one half of the solid centre-back pairing that helped the Blues to secure promotion in 2007.

However, the former Bolton man told the Birmingham Mail: "I think the Championship is more than enough for me, it's very hard."

He added: "I thought it would be easy but it has never been easy. It's more difficult than the Premier League to concentrate.

"You can't prevent what will come, it has never been clear and that is the hard thing because in the Premier League sometimes you feel comfortable playing even against the big teams, you know what to expect.

"But in the Championship you can lose against bottom teams, you don't know what the result is going to be each week."
