Cup success wouldn't sway Hiddink

Guus Hiddink will not reconsider staying on as Chelsea boss even if he leads them to Champions League glory this season.

Interim coach Hiddink is preparing his side to take on Liverpool at Anfield in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night, but even going one better than Avram Grant will not be enough to persuade him to stay in charge at Stamford Bridge.

He said: "There is an emotional attachment with the Russian Federation and the people I work with -- it would not be a good thing to leave them."

Hiddink has lost just one game since he agreed to take charge of the side on a temporary basis from sacked Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The Dutchman won the European Cup with PSV Eindhoven but a repeat of the feat with Chelsea will not make him stay.

Chelsea are also in the semi-finals of the FA Cup but Hiddink insists not even a cup double will affect his future plans.

"It would be a beautiful scenario to win both cups," said Hiddink. "In that case I will not walk away from Stamford Bridge in my mind, but I will have to literally walk away because I have my full-hearted obligations in Russia and that is not going to change if we win those two cups.

Although Hiddink concedes reviving Chelsea's Premier League title chances are extremely slim, the Dutchman revealed he cannot wait for the forthcoming European and FA Cup challenges that remain.

"I look at the upcoming games this month and I'm excited," he added. "I won the European Cup in 1988 with PSV as a young manager, but it would be a dream fulfilled to win it again near the end of my career with Chelsea.

"Everyone knows that going to Anfield is like a hurricane. The atmosphere doesn't worry me, it excites me."
