Wrestling gets a lot of hate from people that don’t necessarily tune into the product and appreciate what it’s all about.Instead, the term ‘it’s fake’ gets thrown around as if those of us that watch don’t actually know that everything they do is scripted.

INJURY

However, what we do know is that it’s not entirely safe and that accidents do happen in the ring – so you can see why WWE continues to tell us not to try what they do in the ring at home.

Some listen, and some don’t but that’s a different story. However, former WWE tag team champion Paul London has provided a gruesome example of what can happen when you’re not careful in the ring, and his injury isn’t for the squeamish either.

Today’s fans might now know who London is, but he enjoyed a record-breaking tag team championship reign alongside current Monday Night RAW and 205 Live star, The Brian Kendrick.

London is one of the former WWE stars that has managed to find a lot of success on the independent circuit after it didn’t work out too well for him in Vince McMahon’s organisation, despite his popularity.

Judging by his update on Twitter, it seems as if London was competing at a show in the Netherlands, where an unfortunate wrestling incident busted his head wide open.

HEAD CUT

He tweeted: “Have I ever told you how much I love/hate this silly pro wrestling s**t??? In the ER now here in Amsterdam…”

That’s not something you can unsee either.

He had plenty of sympathies, though, either from fellow professional or fans who couldn’t quite believe how his head had split wide open.

As of this writing, London provided a couple more updates on the situation, along with another image if you enjoyed seeing the previous one.

His first update read: “They’re consulting with a plastic surgeon right now…A lot of my skin is missing…Thanks for the messages everyone, Elephant Man loves y’all.”

He then went on to add: “A second Dr came in…They consulted in Dutch, she squeezed my cut (opening it up again) as they planned the next step and left. Fun!”

While it’s a horrible situation to be in, it’s great to see he’s still remaining positive about the whole thing.
