Graham Alexander was frustrated to have lost his record of playing in every minute of Burnley's campaign after limping off at Derby on Saturday.
The 37-year-old Scot had played the full 90 minutes in every one of the Clarets' 53 games this term until he was substituted in the closing stages of a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
"It was disappointing to spoil my 100% record but with so much at stake you have to be professional," Alexander said. "I tweaked a calf muscle in the week and hadn't trained so I had to be honest and tell them when I started cramping in my legs."
