One of the biggest names that has been linked with a move away from NXT to the main roster is former NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

The King of Strong Style has become one of the biggest names on NXT since his debut less than a year ago at Takeover Dallas.

Nakamura may be set to challenge Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship at Takeover Orlando, but he has been expected to move up to the main roster for some time now - particularly given his omission from the post- WrestleMania NXT tour of the UK.

That all changed on Monday though:

His omission from the tour was seen as a clear sign that he would not be on NXT during that time, but now it looks like things may have changed.

His addition to the tour and confirmation that he will be at the Download festival could be a sign that his main roster call up has been put on hold.

The future of the former NXT Champion however still remains unclear as several superstars in the past have worked both NXT and the main roster simultaneously.

Nakamura's time in NXT will always be best remembered for his feud with Samoa Joe as the two engaged in a very personal battle.

Joe who is now a permanent superstar on RAW would be just one in a long list of superstars that fans would want to see Nakamura take on when he arrives on the main roster.

Best possible addition?

Nakamura's arrival on the main roster will be like a dream to the WWE Universe who will get to see him go one on one with some incredible names on either RAW or Smackdown.

With RAW boasting names like Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and Brock Lesnar, he could find a lot of success on there.

As for Smackdown, AJ Styles, John Cena and Randy Orton could all feature in high profile matches against the King of Strong Style.

Nakamura has faced off with several of these superstars before, but perhaps his most memorable match during his time with the company remains as his first against Sami Zayn.
