Duberry talks up Royal promotion

Published Add your comment

Reading defender Michael Duberry has insisted that the Royals are still confident of winning automatic promotion from the Championship.

The lottery of the end of season play-offs look the best route for Steve Coppell's side to return to the Premier League after a run of indifferent form but Duberry believes that they can still overhaul Birmingham and Wolves at the top.

He said: "The play-offs are not something I will think about until it's mathematically impossible for us not to get automatic promotion."

He added: "We are confident at the minute, and on the plus side we have steadied the ship.

"There are some big games coming up and some teams at the top have still got to play each other so I don't think it's just about the play-offs."
