So far, only one member of the former Shield group has turned heel, that being Seth Rollins when the group disbanded almost three years ago.

Since then, all three members, Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose have had runs with the WWE championship, but we are still waiting for the heel turns of The Big Dog and The Lunatic Fringe.

While due to his major push many people are hoping Reigns is next to turn heel, at the moment, it feels like Ambrose might be the next former Shield star to make a change and become a bad guy in the WWE.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, the current Intercontinental champion said when asked about his thought on a possible heel turn in the future that there is still a lot that he wants to do in his career.

Ambrose said: "I go out there and just try to be myself. Whatever mood I’m in is kind of the version of me you’re going to get that day. I go out and do me and what I feel like and I don’t really think too much about it. There’s a lot I still want to do in my career and there’s going to be a whole other chapter in the future."

While this neither confirms or denies a heel turn in the future, there would be so many more opportunities for Ambrose if he was to turn from face to heel, especially around the time of the draft later this year.

It has recently been speculated that his former Shield-brother in Reigns could be switching from RAW to SmackDown Live, bringing, whether you like him or not, a strong babyface to the brand in John Cena's absence. AJ Styles could potentially go the other way.

Reuniting with his former stablemate could provide the perfect opportunity for Ambrose to turn heel, turning on his former friend in the process due to jealousy of The Big Dog's opportunities given to him, cost him a chance to win a title perhaps, and truly relishing his nickname, The Lunatic Fringe.

This would be a feud many WWE fans would be interested in viewing as it hasn't been seen before and it would reignite their Shield links which many people enjoyed. It could be an epic storyline for SummerSlam season.
