Far too often in the wrestling world, people die long before they are supposed to.Many wrestlers have met their demise thanks to drugs, alcohol problems and, more commonly, heart issues. But, on Wednesday evening, a loss came under tragic circumstances that has touched the wrestling industry.WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross, is one of the most beloved people in the whole of wrestling and, arguably, the greatest announcer of all-time.When he announced earlier this week that his wife, Jan, had been knocked off her Vespa and suffered "multiple skull fractures," JR received a wave of support from some of the industry's biggest names praying for the miracle he so badly needed.
Unfortunately, Ross tweeted on Wednesday evening that a Preist had read Jan her last rites and she had now passed away.
It's a terrible way for JR to lose his wife of 25 years of marriage and our thoughts go out to JR and his family at this difficult time.
The legendary commentator has received an overwhelming amount of support on Twitter from some of the biggest names in wrestling in the wake of his heartache. Some of the best tweets are below.
Ross, 65, officially left the WWE in 2013 after a glorious career with Vince McMahon's empire and he has worked sporadically for various companies since.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2007 and now runs a very successful podcast, The Ross Report, through Podcast One.
It's good to see that the wrestling world is rallying around JR and offering their support at such a difficult time. There has been no word thus far as to whether JR intends to fulfil his schedule in Orlando over WrestleMania weekend.
