Mick Foley was fired as RAW's general manager, creating a vacant position the WWE will need to fill for Monday night.

Foley is scheduled to undergo hip surgery, and the WWE used his feud with Stephanie McMahon as a means to an ends to write him off the show. Now, they have a golden opportunity to reignite the struggling ratings RAW has been putting up.

Coincidentally enough, with only one RAW left until WrestleMania, the promotion posted a list of five potential RAW general manager candidates that could fill the void left by Foley on their official website.

The first name they list is Eric Bischoff, who would make some sense. Bischoff's role on-screen in professional wrestling has almost always been as a general manager, and he worked magic for both WCW Nitro and RAW at a time.

Bischoff will be inducting long-time colleague Diamond Dallas Page into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania weekend, so he's back on the radar. Still, Bischoff seems like a low-tier candidate, and one that fans won't come rushing back to RAW to see every week.

The next, Stone Cold Steve Austin, could be a lot of fun. The Texas Rattlesnake would have to hide his fangs — or would he — working so closely with the McMahons and Triple H, but Stone Cold would be a big draw to roll out every Monday.

Would he have to stop his podcast, though? These are the serious questions that must be weighed-in on.

The next suggestion is quite off the wall and seems to be clearly only for Hall of Fame induction purposes. Jim Cornette was, once upon a time, one of the best wrestling managers in the business. He's never served as a "general manager" and has kept a low profile.

Cornette will be back to induct the Rock 'n' Roll Express into the Hall of Fame, but that seems like the likeliest conclusion of his return to the WWE.

The second-to-last suggestion is almost as if they pulled a name of out of a hat, singling out that Edge, The Ultimate Opportunist, could "seize on the ultimate opportunity" to lead RAW back into the promised lands.

Edge had a late-blooming career, becoming a big draw in the latter half as he stood out as an individual performer that transformed into the Rated R Superstar. A general manager stint is a strange fit for his return, to say the least.

The last suggestion is the one that so many have already committed to in their perfect scenario: Kurt Angle. Angle has dropped several hints that the WWE wants to continue working with him after the Hall of Fame, but not as a wrestler immediately.

He's been away from the WWE for a decade and his induction into the Hall of Fame has fans feeling what can be best described as AngleMania. His ability to carry segments with his on-mic talents alone should have him as the frontrunner.

Can you imagine the pop if Angle's music hits whenever, and however, they announce the next general manager? WWE.com saved the best suggestion for last. It's true, it's true.
