Friday marks 10 years since the first official game at the new Wembley Stadium.
But can you name the two teams involved in that match?
No?
Well, it was England Under-21’s vs Italy Under-21’s.
And the two sides played out a very entertaining 3-3 draw in front of a bumper crowd.
When asked: "Where would you like to be in 10 years time?" to those English players that took to the field that day, they probably would have replied: "Coming to the end of my career after playing consistently in the Premier League and winning trophies - and maybe even representing the senior side."
Well, it didn’t quite go to plan for the XI that played against Italy 10 years ago.
We’ve taken a look at what happened to them after the curtain-raiser at Wembley.
Goalkeeper: Lee Camp
Camp has spent almost his entire career in the football league playing more than 450 times for the likes of Derby, Nottingham Forest, QPR and Rotherham - where he is currently at.
He also chose to represent Northern Ireland at senior level - making nine appearances.
Right-back: Liam Rosenior
Rosenior has played in the Premier League for Fulham, Reading and Hull City and is hoping to get back there once again for Brighton this season.
Centre-back: Anton Ferdinand
Couldn’t quite follow in his older brother’s footsteps. Ferdinand did play for West Ham, Sunderland and QPR in the Premier League before moving to Turkey to play for Bursaspor and Antalyaspor.
He’s now at Southend United in League One.
Centre-back: Gary Cahill
Probably the most successful member of this Under-21 squad.
Cahill was signed by Chelsea from Bolton in 2011 for £7 million and the defender has gone on to play 229 times for them. In that time, he’s won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League.
Another FA Cup and Premier League could follow this season.
Left-back: Leighton Baines
Baines helped Wigan earn promotion to the Premier League before being snapped up by Everton in 2007 for just £6 million - what a bargain.
He’s played more than 350 times for the Toffees and represented his country 30 times.
Right midfield: David Bentley
The new David Beckham. Well, not quite.
Bentley began his career at Arsenal but didn’t quite make the grade. He moved to Blackburn before returning to north London to sign for Spurs.
But he didn’t quite have the attitude needed to succeed at the very top level and, at the age of 32, has already retired.
He did become the first Englishman to score at Wembley, though, with a fantastic free-kick against Italy.
Centre midfield: Nigel Reo-Coker
Reo-Coker captained this side on the day but failed to really make the grade in the Premier League - and didn’t earn a single cap for the senior side.
He played 120 league matches for West Ham in the Premier League and the Championship before representing Aston Villa, Bolton, Ipswich, Vancouver Whitecaps and Chivas USA.
He was most recently seen playing for Montreal Impact.
Left midfield: Kieran Richardson
Another player that failed to fulfil his talent and is currently without a club.
He began his career at Manchester United - where he played 81 times - before playing six seasons in the Premier League for Sunderland.
Four more seasons in the top-flight - two with Fulham and two with Aston Villa - followed, while he played six times for Cardiff this season before being released.
Left forward: Gabriel Agbonlahor
Agbonlahor is very much a one-man club (kind of).
The forward has played almost 400 times for Aston Villa and, other than two short loan spells at Watford and Sheffield Wednesday, has spent his entire career at Villa Park.
Now 30-years-old, he’s struggling to play for the Villians in the Championship.
Centre forward: Leroy Lita
Lita was a product of the Chelsea academy but never made an appearance for the west Londoners. Instead, Lita spent his career either in the Premier League or the Championship with Bristol City, Reading, Middlesbrough, Swansea City.
He’s now currently playing in Thailand for Sisaket.
Right forward: Wayne Routledge
Routledge has had quite the career, playing for Crystal Palace, Tottenham, Portsmouth (loan), Fulham (loan), Aston Villa, Cardiff (loan), QPR, Newcastle, QPR again (loan).
He’s now at Swansea - where he’s been for six seasons - and is still playing consistently.
