Chris Jericho is walking into WrestleMania 33 with the United States title in hand and an incredible amount of experience over Kevin Owens. The man who once shocked the WWE universe by jumping ship from WCW is still going strong, remaining as one of the best in the business even after he's done just about everything he can in professional wrestling.Let's take a stroll through five of Jericho's biggest WrestleMania moments, which make his case for being the best in the world.

The birth of Money in the Bank

The first Jericho moment we'll run with has a lot more to do with his involvement in the WWE's first money in the bank match behind than scenes than actually participating in it. This is a little outside of the box, but it speaks to how brilliant his wrestling mind is.

Jericho is the man behind the concept, pitching the idea to the WWE creative team after they told him he and several other stars were squeezed out of the WrestleMania card. He explained it on RAW, and it's legitimate:

The story goes that Jericho dreamed up the multi-man ladder match, coming up with the idea of a future title shot as the prize hanging above the ring. The WWE ran with it, and it's history ever since. Jericho lost during the inaugural match, but he created what's now a staple in wrestling.

Jericho, Chris Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, Edge, Kane and Christian squared off for the first money in the bank ladder match, with Edge running away with the briefcase once the chaos concluded.

Imagine the WWE without all of the surprises cashed in with that one glorious briefcase!

A "phenomenal" WrestleMania

AJ Styles and Jericho squared off at WrestleMania last year, pitting two of the most phenomenal in-ring performers against one another. What happened was a classic match between two great wrestlers.

The ending may have been one of the best codebreakers in Jericho's career, catching Styles as he sprung off the top rope:

"Got 'em," as the kids say these days.

This was a big match for Styles, who had a great opponent in Jericho to work with, and another outstanding performance from Y2J. Styles has only continued to rise since proving himself against one of the best.

Triple threat

There's nothing like a shot at championship glory at WrestleMania, and a triple threat match between Jericho, Benoit and Kurt Angle with two straps on the line was on the card for WrestleMania 2000.

Jericho came out and lit his fans on fire, cutting a quick promo ahead of the match. In stormed Benoit, followed by Angle, and on went a match between three of the greatest in-ring performers of all-time.

Angle wasn't over just yet, still learning the ropes, and Benoit was still finding his stride in the WWE. The match wasn't what you'd expect out of these three, but it has a special place her because it was the first WrestleMania match of Jericho's career.

Angle was both the European and Intercontinental champion at the time but would lose both titles. Benoit captured the Intercontinental title, while Jericho ended the match with a lionsault and cover on The Canadian Crippler for the European title:

CM Punked

This was one of the best wrestling matches of Jericho's career, going blow-for-blow, reverse-for-reverse against CM Punk at WrestleMania 28.

It's hard to pick a single standout moment from this one, with both men performing at peak levels. This highlight package is a pretty good representation of how many great spots they worked together on this magical night:

The mental war Jericho waged against Punk leading into and during the match are what set him apart from being just a great wrestler. He's a great performer, doing the nuanced things that put matches and angles over the top.

Not a bad return to the ring for Jericho, who stole the show with Punk.

Heartbroke

Jericho is one of the all-time greats of a generation, and when he stepped into the ring with the wrestler he idolized that paved the path for him, he put up the match of a lifetime.

Jericho and Shawn Michaels turned that ring inside out, putting on a clinic in wrestling. Not only were they showing off their technical chops throughout the match, they did a great job pacing it out and telling a story throughout the fight.

It's the ending that seals the deal.

Michaels flips over Jericho to reverse a backdrop attempts, rolls him over onto his shoulders and pins him for the three count. A broken Jericho slowly rises to his feet, feeling the sting of losing to the man he looked up to.

Then, a classic ending:

The list is even deeper than this, with a other great matches against Triple H, Edge and Christian as a few of Y2J's finest moments that could have easily made the list. WrestleMania is Jericho, and hopefully we get another moment to add to the pile against Owens in Orlando.
