Francesco Totti will celebrate his 41st birthday in September and yet there is still a chance he could be playing in Italy's top division by the time he turns another year older.

The Roma legend has admitted he is yet to make a decision on his playing future but did rule out going into coaching once he does eventually hang up the boots.

You would assume that being one of the most experienced players of the current era would make Totti an ideal managerial candidate of the future, but seemingly not.

No, the Italian forward revealed that he doesn't see himself moving to the other side of dressing room because players are 'sly'.

"I'm thinking about my future, I've almost made my decision, but I'll wait for May or June," Totti told L'Intervista, as per Goal.

"I will never become a coach, I don't like to be one against 30, players are so sly.

"I have three options for my future: to continue to play on the current pitches [as a Roma player], to become a Roma executive or quit football to do something else."

Of course, Totti has always been held in high regard by supporters around the world for the loyalty he had shown to Roma.

During various highs and lows, the striker was the subject of plenty of interest from some of the biggest teams around Europe but rejected any and every possibility to leave the club that gave him his professional debut in 1993.

Although Totti doesn't regret turning down those opportunities, there are two things he does rue.

One is them is not winning the Champions League with his beloved Roma and the other is about Ronaldo.

It turns out Totti regrets never playing alongside the former Brazilian striker during his pomp at Real Madrid.

He added: "Many years ago I was really close to Real Madrid, I was pondering to leave Roma to go to Madrid.

"I was really close. I would never sign for another Italian side out of respect for the people.

"My regrets are not playing with Ronaldo, the Brazilian one, and not winning the Champions League with Roma."

Can you imagine a forward pairing of Ronaldo and Totti in their prime? Frightening.

If someone who has played football for over 25 years only has two regrets, he must have done something right.

So far this season the 40-year-old has contributed seven assists and two goals from 20 appearances so you wouldn't bet against him carrying on for at least another year.
