Chile’s defeat to Argentina on Thursday night left their hopes of qualifying for the Russia World Cup in a very precarious position.Lionel Messi’s first-half penalty was the only difference between the two sides but the loss means that La Roja are now sixth in the South American qualification table - with the top four teams qualifying automatically and fifth place entering the playoffs. So, as you’d expect the Chileans were pretty devastated following the loss to their rivals. But, before the Chile players could head to the dressing room to express their disappointment, they had to go over and thank the travelling supporters for coming all the way to Argentina. However, there was one player that didn’t do that. No prizes for guessing who. That’s right, Alexis Sanchez decided he would storm straight down the tunnel at the full-time whistle - maybe it was his frustration at smashing the bar from a 20-yard free-kick in the second-half.

Sanchez's free-kick

It’s something we’ve seen on numerous occasions at Arsenal this season with the forward’s attitude being called into question whenever the Gunners have suffered a setback. In fact, he was accused of doing exactly the same thing following Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with Mesut Ozil being unhappy with his behaviour.

And now, according to Chilean outlet Emol, his international teammates are equally angry with him.

Their report says his teammates shouted at him to stay on the pitch to go over to their fans but he refused. Instead, Sanchez threatened to rip his shirt before kicking the turf and walking down the tunnel. This left the other Chilean players 'furious' with the Arsenal star being the only man not to acknowledge the fans.

Although they could understand his frustration, they claimed that the fans were not to blame for the loss and they at least deserved a farewell as a thank you for their support.

Sanchez’s behaviour was made to look even worse after Arturo Vidal - who was suspended for the match - made his way onto the pitch to greet the traveling fans.
