Cisse heads Black Cats clear

Published Add your comment

Djibril Cisse's header on the stroke of half-time gave Sunderland a massive boost in their battle for Barclays Premier League survival with a 1-0 win over Hull at the Stadium of Light.

Cisse headed home after Danny Collins flicked on an Andy Reid cross and it was enough to send Hull hurtling ever closer to the relegation zone.

The visitors pushed desperately for the equaliser with George Boateng and Caleb Folan both coming close but the home side hung on for a crucial win.
