With WrestleMania 33 edging closer that also means there’s less than one week remaining until Kurt Angle is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside some other massive names. While it’s great to see the Olympic gold medallist being honoured for his contributions to the business – and fans are ecstatic to see him there – there’s still hope that WWE will allow him compete in the ring again.

IN-RING RETURN?

There have been rumours for quite some months now, as it was speculated that WWE want to either use him as a competitor sparingly or at least use him on an on-screen character where a general manager role on Monday Night RAW has been speculated.

Regardless of that, fans are already thinking of big names they want to see Angle get in the ring with, and if comments from Triple H are to be taken seriously, you can’t rule it out entirely.

If it helps the stories they tell, and if he can pass the demanding physical tests, we should expect to see the former WWE Champion back in action again.

There are some huge names and interesting characters he could work with, but it seems as if Angle has already started to tease another match from somebody on NXT.

It all stems down to a t-shirt that’s being sold on behalf of Angle, working off the ‘angles’ gimmick where we can see a right, acute and obtuse angle, with the final angle showing Kurt locking in the Ankle Lock on an opponent.

That opponent’s face can’t be seen clearly but is instantly recognisable regardless; Bobby Roode.

ROODE VS. ANGLE?

The current NXT Champion tweeted a picture of the shirt, posting: “The other guy on this new @RealKurtAngle looks familiar…..#PreGlorious.”

Angle then issued a response, with a subtle challenge thrown in there towards the man defending his gold the night before WrestleMania 33 against Shinsuke Nakamura.

He replied: “Yes. It’s you Bobby. Don’t ever forget it. Lol. We can make this happen again if you want.”

As expected, Twitter went into meltdown at the prospect of seeing Roode vs. Angle in the WWE; who would have thought that would have ever been possible?

The two have had great rivalries and matches during their time in TNA, so it’s not as if Roode would be a stranger to what Angle has to offer inside of the squared circle.

With so many names already being mentioned, perhaps we should throw Roode’s in there as well.
