From time to time, the company likes to take a trip down memory lane with some of their tweets, including their latest one about the WrestleMania 25 Extreme Rules match between The Hardy Boyz.
The tweet shows a video of Jeff sandwiching his brother in between two tables with a chair on his stomach outside of the ring before he climbs to the top rope and jumps on top of him.
The tweet says: "You better believe tables were BROKEN in the battle between The #HardyBoyz at the 25th Anniversary of #WrestleMania!"
Broken, did you say? How odd you would capitalize that certain word like that...
Nevertheless, it's fair to say WWE fans are loving the reference, despite the fact it was not subtle at all and it only further hypes the rumors of the tag team returning to the company.
Fans and critics believe it's a matter of when, not if The Hardy Boyz come back to the WWE. When they do, there has been concerns the Broken gimmick that has been praised by wrestling fans will not be coming with them due to a speculated lawsuit by their former employers.
Considering fans absolutely love the gimmick, WWE will likely do everything they can to make sure they return to the company as Broken Matt and Brother Nero, as darker gimmicks like The Undertaker and The Wyatt Family have been a huge success.
If anything, it would be very disappointing if The Hardy Boyz came back to WWE without their Broken gimmick.
