Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are in for a very busy summer transfer window if recent rumours are anything to go by.

Antoine Griezmann, Ivan Perisic and Kylian Mbappe are said to be on the Red Devils' radar, despite the fact they'll all cost in excess of £40 million.

A certain Victor Lindelof is also a long-term target, but what's apparent is Mourinho's focus is on adding to his attacking ranks.

So it comes as no real surprise that he's also interested in signing Barcelona's Neymar.

According to Catalan publication Sport, per the Mirror and Sky Sports, United plan to trigger the Brazilian's €200 million release clause this summer.

And they're said to be confident of luring him, especially after he admitted to being an admirer of the 20-time league champions last week.

"I like the playing style and the teams," Neymar said after being asked about a potential move to the Premier League. "And who knows, someday, I would like to play at it, yes.

"I admire Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool - these are the teams that are always there fighting.

"And then you have high-level coaches like Mourinho and [Manchester City's Pep] Guardiola. These are coaches with whom any player would like to work."

United face competition to sign Neymar but, in a bid to convince him of moving to Old Trafford, Mourinho has reportedly used a few tactics.

According to said reports, the Portuguese is not only willing to offer Neymar £425,000-per-week wages after tax, but he's called the 25-year-old personally to discuss a move.

It's claimed Mourinho promised Neymar that he'll be in contact in the summer and that he will activate his release clause.

Mourinho clearly thinks adding a personal touch to negotiations will help his cause.

Bringing Neymar to United would be yet another huge statement from Mourinho, who has already signed Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his short time at United.

A devastating winger is exactly what the Red Devils need, too, with Neymar scoring and assisting 14 and 18 goals respectively in all competitions for Barcelona this season.
