Safe to say Pep Guardiola has stamped his authority on Manchester City since taking over as manager last summer.

The Spaniard's, shall we say, unique methods have been regularly brought into question this season, but he always stands by them.

Whether it's dropping Sergio Aguero for a teenager or exiling senior players like Yaya Toure, Guardiola isn't afraid to make controversial and unpopular decisions.

According to The Sun, for example, he's enforced no less than SEVEN bans at the Etihad.

They claim Guardiola has banned sex after midnight, fruit juice, chocolate, pizza, WiFi in certain places, eating breakfast alone and wacky haircuts.

Samir Nasri, who is currently on loan at Sevilla, confirmed rumours of a sex ban last November and explained the bizarre reason behind it.

He said: "For him, his players' sexual activity must take place before midnight in order to get a good night sleep - even if they are free tomorrow.

"He (Guardiola) said that he placed this rule on Lionel Messi (at Barcelona) and his muscles improved since."

Very rarely do players give an insight into how they really feel about their manager's methods but, according to Pablo Zabaleta, one of Guardiola's pre-match preparations bores some of City's players.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the Argentine revealed how Guardiola makes City's stars watch "a lot of videos" before games, which some find tedious.

"[Guardiola's] passion is to try always to improve, or to try to find the right way to attack," he said.

"We watch a lot of videos, where sometimes I know it's a bit boring for some of the players to be watching videos every day.

"But for the players who really love football and enjoy watching... and I'm talking about 20 minutes of video, or 25 minutes, not an hour or two hours!

"He's always trying to improve the players and to improve the team. He likes to play out from the back and always to have two or three options, for the player on the ball.

"He likes always to give you solutions and information. The way he prepares for games is just fantastic."

Guardiola is renowned for his in-depth, methodical approach to games, but it hasn't always worked out for him this season.

City are currently third in the Premier League but, somewhat disappointingly, they're 12 points behind Chelsea and out of the title race.
