Whether fans like it or not, in just under one week Roman Reigns will be meeting The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33.

The reception has been mixed since the match was made official, and fans were even more disgruntled online when rumours started to pick up steam that The Big Dog was going to be meeting The Phenom in Orlando on April 2.

NEGATIVE REACTION

In fact, you could argue that most of the negativity stems from the speculation that this could be The Deadman’s last WrestleMania, meaning Reigns could effectively retire him at the Grandest Stage of Them All, and that’s not something fans are exactly looking forward to.

That topic was brought up by Peter Rosenberg of the Cheap Heat podcast, and discussed the reception of the match with Triple H who is also set to be in action on the same night against Seth Rollins.

He claimed that even though fans are claiming they’re not excited for it, the reaction whenever Reigns comes face to face with The Undertaker suggests otherwise.

REACTIONS

He said: “Look, to me, anytime ‘Taker goes to the ring, I’m excited for it and I’m anxious to see that match and it’s so funny now when a Roman Reigns…people are going to be excited for that match.

“It’s going to be loud for that match. The people, some like him [and] some don’t like him. It’s just this crazy place in the business where we’re at right now. But that to me is going to be something special to me.

“Even last [Monday] when they were in the ring together, you could feel it.

“That place was buzzing. And they’ll all say afterwards, ‘Ah, I didn’t want to see that match!’ Really, because you were pretty loud when they were out there staring at each other!”

Triple H has a point, the reactions have been pretty loud in recent weeks and that does show that fans are eager to see what goes down in Orlando, even if they are boos towards Reigns.

It seems as if WWE doesn’t really care if fans boo Reigns either, as long as they make noise for him they’ll just continue doing what they’re doing with The Big Dog.

Even though it’s not the first choice we all had for them both, especially when you throw John Cena into the mix, there’s no denying that there’s certainly a lot of intrigue heading into the weekend.
