It's surely a question of when - not if - Alexis Sanchez will leave Arsenal.

The Chilean hasn't always conducted himself with good grace this season, throwing numerous tantrums and doing his best to undermine Arsene Wenger.

However, as easy as it may be to criticise the 28-year-old, it's understandable that he's frustrated.

In spite of his 23 goals and 12 assists this term, the Gunners sit sixth in the Premier League, still reeling from their ignominy over two disastrous legs against Bayern Munich.

A glove-throw against Bournemouth, skulking under his coat against Swansea - Alexis has made it pretty clear his time at the Emirates is up.

The club have allowed the situation to escalate by not tying him down to a new deal earlier.

By the summer, he and fellow contract rebel Mesut Ozil will have just a year left on their respective deals, and it's that which has led to the increased speculation about where they'll be playing next season.

Sanchez is a wanted man

It's fair to say that Sanchez will be in more demand than the Germany international, whose season has been a little underwhelming.

Plenty of top clubs will be monitoring the forward's situation, and it seems Bayern Munich are now among them.

The rumour mill has long been churning out reports of Paris Saint-Germain's interest, but the Bundesliga champions could beat Unai Emery's side to his signature as they're making him one of their two main targets, claim Sport.

In the context of suggestions that Barcelona will bid for Thiago, the Spanish publication claims that the Bavarians are not planning to sell any of their star assets this summer and are instead looking to strengthen.

Arsenal can't compete

Carlo Ancelotti made some pretty impressive signings in his first summer at the Allianz, bringing in the likes of Mats Hummels and Renato Sanches. This time around, he reportedly wants Sanchez and Real Madrid's James Rodriguez.

For Arsenal fans, that would be a bitter pill to swallow. Many of them are resigned to losing their star man, but at the rate they seem to play Bayern in Europe, you wouldn't bet against him facing them next season.

It just highlights the gulf in pulling power between the two clubs right now.

Chile team-mate Arturo Vidal is also to be found in Munich, so he could prove key to tempting his ally.

Ultimately, though, it will be Alexis' seemingly growing disdain for Arsenal that will see him quit north London.
