Football fans are probably fed up with the international break by now but, before domestic football finally returns, we have an intriguing friendly to look forward to.
France take on Spain at the Stade de France as two of the most talented football nations do battle.
But, with a friendly, we’re never quite sure which players will take to the field.
Spain boss Julen Lopetegui is keen to make many changes from the side that beat Isreal 4-1 in their World Cup qualifier at the weekend.
However, according to AS, there will be one first-team regular taking to the pitch in France.
Ramos' demand
That’s because they’re reporting that Sergio Ramos has demanded that he starts against Les Blues - and wants to play as much of the game as possible.
Why?
So he can examine French striker Kylian Mbappe for himself.
Monaco’s 18-year-old forward is being linked with a move to Real Madrid, having scored 19 goals this season for the Ligue 1 club.
And, having just made his debut for the national side, he’s expected to play against Spain.
Therefore, Ramos - captain of Madrid - wants to play against Mbappe to see if he’s good enough for the La Liga giants and whether he’s worth the hefty transfer fee.
Not only is he the captain of Madrid, he's also a scout now it seems! Brilliant commitment from the defender.
But Madrid will face plenty of competition for Mbappe’s signature with other European giants likely to be interested this summer. However, Ramos has already spoken about the wonderkid ahead of facing him in Paris.
Ramos on Mbappe
"I do not call the president [Florentino Perez] to consult me about signings, but the gates of Real Madrid are always open for the best players," Ramos said.
"If you come to Madrid, Mbappe, we will welcome you with all the affection as we always do with the new players who arrive."
Rather than seeing if Mbappe is good enough for Madrid, maybe Ramos will actually spend the 90 minutes trying to convince him to join the Bernabeu club.
Either way, it will be exciting the see the 18-year-old test himself against one of the best defenders in Europe in the past decade.
