The New England Patriots are not only currently the best team in the NFL (that award goes to the team who won the Super Bowl), but one of the best franchises in all of sports as well. A large part of that is thank to Patriots owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick and of course, quarterback Tom Brady. Now, with Brady set to turn 40 at the start of the 2017 NFL season, it seemed pretty apparent that his career is beginning to wind down. Or, at least that's what everyone thought. While Brady is technically out of his prime, it doesn't seem to matter as he's only getting better with age at this point, as amazing as that is to think about. To make things even better for Patriots fans, it seems that Brady doesn't have any interest in calling it a career anytime soon. Kraft apparently told The MMQB's Albert Breer that Brady wants to play another six or seven years."As recently as two or three days ago, he assured me that he'd be willing to play another six or seven years," Kraft said.To go along with that, Phil Perry of CSNNE.com also had the full video of Kraft talking about the Super Bowl MVP as well.

For most players, this probably would be really crazy. But, Brady is fresh off a season in which he threw for 3,554 yards and 28 touchdowns, with only two interceptions in 12 games. His 28-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio is the best in the history of the NFL.

While it'd obviously be great to see Brady play for that many more years, it does make things interesting for backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The 25-year-old backup quarterback was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft and was expected to be the man to take over under center for Brady when he chose to retire.

But, Garoppolo is set to become a free agent after the 2017 season and has been a hot topic on the trade rumor central over the past few months. Obviously, there's a very real chance that Garoppolo could wind up leaving New England and signing on as a starter with another team next offseason if he's not traded first.

It doesn't seem like Brady is anywhere close to retiring, so the future of Garoppolo is one to monitor. This news is great for Patriots fans in one defense, but it's also slightly concerning, as it may result in the team losing their long-term answer at quarterback if he does wind up playing for that long.
