It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for Kylian Mbappe, the 18-year-old AS Monaco forward whose eye-catching performances have led to comparisons with Thierry Henry.

The Ligue 1 hotshot, who has scored an impressive 19 goals for Monaco this season, recently terrorised Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Champions League before earning his first senior France call-up on March 16.

Nine days later and he made his France debut, coming on as a 78th-minute substitute against Luxembourg.

And three days after that, against Spain on Tuesday night, Mbappe made his first start for Les Bleus.

At 18 years, three months and five days old, Mbappe has become the second youngest player ever to feature for France. That’s some achievement.

Florentino Perez is keen

Many of Europe’s top clubs are reportedly keen to sign the French starlet this summer, including Real Madrid.

When asked if he’ll make a move for Mbappe this summer, Madrid president Florentino Perez was quoted by the Mirror as saying: “Anything is possible, but we will not talk about players who don't belong to Real Madrid.

"He's a great player but we're only thinking about La Liga and the Champions League right now.”

Sergio Ramos: I don't think Florentino will call me

Sergio Ramos, meanwhile, has told reporters that Mbappe would be welcomed to the Bernabeu - although he doesn’t expect Perez to ask him about the player.

"I don't think Florentino will call me to decide whether or not to sign him," the Madrid captain told Marca ahead of Spain’s match against France.

”Real Madrid's doors are open to the best players in the world and if he comes he would be welcomed, but it would be a lack of respect to talk about players who aren't in our team."

Mbappe played 65 minutes v Spain

Mbappe played for 65 minutes but failed to prevent his national side slumping to a 2-0 defeat at the Stade de France.

Second-half goals from David Silva and Gerard Deulofeu, both scored after Mbappe was subbed off for Olivier Giroud, secured a confidence-boosting victory for Julen Lopetegui and his players.

And he swapped shirts with Pique at half-time

But Mbappe must have concerned Perez and the Real Madrid faithful by swapping shirts with Barcelona icon Gerard Pique at half-time.

Marca claim Mbappe’s actions “won’t have gone down well in the Spanish capital” as he sought out the Catalan defender to swap jerseys.

Some people thought Mbappe was snubbing a request from Pique by pointing away - but that wasn’t the case.

Mbappe clarifies shirt-swap with Pique

Asked about the half-time shirt-swap exchange with Pique, the teenager told L’Equipe, per Squawka: “I was going to ask him [for his shirt] but he anticipated. I told him we were going to do it in the changing room.”

So, that’s that.

The battle for Mbappe’s signature is about to become intense…
