BT Sport have a pretty neat series going on which see's current Premier League stars try and score some of the division's most famous goals.Sometimes, they deliver with an expert strike which perfectly mirrors the original but other times, they are left to wallow in the misery of a dreaded pea roller or a sliced effort which creeps towards the corner flag. The latest instalment in the series gives Liverpool's flying winger Sadio Mane the chance to emulate one his Senegalese teammates in Papiss Cisse.

The goal in question comes from 2012 when the striker, playing for Newcastle at the time against Chelsea, unleashed an unstoppable half-volley from 30 yards which dipped and swerved over a helpless Petr Cech. Mane's attempt at the glorious goal can be seen below:

Sadly, the Senegal international could not repeat the feat accomplished by his predecessor, although he did prompt a pretty impressive save from the goalkeeper with his fourth and final attempt.

But, that was not the end of it as Liverpool colleague Emre Can was drafted in for a shot at glory and, of course, the German midfielder delivered with his first go.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player scores with spectacular realism as his dipping effort sails over the helpless keeper - Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum duly congratulate their colleague.

The Liverpool trio are all set to start in Saturday's Merseyside derby against Everton and with a host of injuries, Jurgen Klopp will be reliant on them to produce the goods.

Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson are set to miss the fixture, handing the German manager a potential selection nightmare in midfield. Lucas Leiva is likely to be drafted in to accommodate the losses.

12-goal Mane will be the main outlet in attack alongside Phillippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino but if the former Southampton man is to have an impact, he may need to find his shooting boots, or just not attempt any 30-yard screamers, either or.
