This week, Maria Sharapova was speaking at the ANA Inspiring Women conference when she told the world "she had got her day job back". She

She said she feels not remorse over what she did and continues to insist her incidence.

Sharapova will return due to a wildcard pick at the Porsche Grand Prix event in Stuggart. The Russian insists she is committed to getting back to the game she loves and hopes she can get off to a winning start.

Sharapova was banned for two years last June after testing positive for Meldonium, which is a banned substance.

Yet, she continues to claim she wasn't aware it was on the banned substance list. She appealed the ban and the Arbitration for Sports Court reduced the ban to enable her to return next month.

Many will be interested in seeing how she performs on her return, and when asked if it would be difficult, she replied by saying: "Absolutely, practice is never the same as playing in a match."

There is not doubt the pressure will be on, and Sharapova herself knows the eyes of the world will be watching. Yet, there can surely be no great expectations for her considering she has been away from the sport for 15 months.

Nevertheless, Sharapova is a former world number one and a five-time Grand Slam winner and therefore will hope to add to that count as soon as possible.

She admitted she found it hard to accept her ban and carried on practising as she was sure the ban would be overturned.

However, when she realised she was going to be away from the game for a long time she took the opportunity to go on holiday and relax.

The most emotional part of the press conference was when she revealed what upset her the most.

She said: "When you love what you do, and you do it with passion and integrity and you work hard and have a team around you, and you're the driving force, you know what you stand for and who you are," she told an ANA Inspiring Women in Sports Conference.

"I've got my day job back. It's great. I've been training quite hard for the past four months."

She added that an athletes lifestyle is so intense, every day, every week. To be away from it for 15 months, it will be hard to get back into a daily routine.

Will Sharapova's return bring immediate success, or will she face an uphill battle to regain form.

Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure when she returns next month, the world's eyes will be eagerly watching her long awaited return.
