Graham Turner is optimistic Hereford can make an immediate return to League One following their relegation.

The former Shrewsbury, Aston Villa and Wolves manager has been in charge at Edgar Street since 1995 but will step down at the end of the season after the Bulls failed to retain their League One status.

"Preparations are been made to ensure we give ourselves every opportunity of bouncing back into League One next season," Turner wrote in his column in the Hereford Times.

"We do not want to be in League Two to make up the numbers and want to give ourselves every opportunity of success again."

The 61-year-old will continue to hold the position of chairman and director of football at the club, with John Trewick poised to take over as manager.
