Ever since his surprise victory over David Haye, Tony Bellew has been inundated with fight requests, including one from Chris Eubank Jr., who fights several weight divisions below Bellew.

The Evertonian himself gained weight in order to face off against Haye, and there's no reason why Eubank Jr. couldn't do the same thing.

Bellew, however, has labelled Eubank Jr. a "clown" in response, via a series of angry tweets, claiming that he only wants to fight him because he'll be seen on TV.

“He’s a clown, he’s just talking absolute s***.

"He’s just looking for attention because no one’s seen his fight on ITV Box Office [against Renold Quinlan] so he probably thought ‘who’s the most relevant fighter in British boxing?’ and he’s come up with my name so that’s why he’s said those things."

Bellew then goes on to claim that Eubank Jr. cannot be taken seriously as a boxer, because his fights are never serious, only signing to fight for the money and prestige.

“He’s not serious. He can’t be taken seriously, he doesn’t sign for fights. He gets to the final stage then loses his pen."

Given Bellew's dispatching of Haye, who has major credibility in the heavyweight world, it's understandable that many people are now wanting to go up against him. He's the hot ticket in boxing right now.

Bellew was toying with the idea of retiring after his magnificent victory over Haye, but he appears to be getting offers left right and centre, not only from Eubank Jr.

“Everyone’s calling my name, just yesterday a good fighter called Andrew Tabiti was mentioning my name, calling me a b**** and all this. I’ve been dealing with this for a long time.

"I’ve beaten good fighter after good fighter time and again, I’ve never had an easy fight.

"Tell a lie, I had an easy fight against Atoli Moore [in 2010] for the Commonwealth title [Bellew won in the first round] and I pray for people like him every single time I get in the ring.

“But I’ve beaten some top guys and now these people are calling me out.

"We’ll see what happens. I’m someone who can honestly say it’s not going to go to my head, I’ll stay grounded and remain an absolute nobody like I already am."

It will be interesting to see where Bellew's career goes next, but one thing's for sure, he doesn't like the sound of fighting Eubank Jr.
