Although WWE is now more welcoming to bringing in the top independent stars from all over the world, they do their best to churn out their own talent from the Performance Centre.

The sad thing is, though, not all of them are able to reach the heights that are expected of them and end up as jobbers on the main roster, remain on NXT with no direction or they’re cut from the roster.

STACKED ROSTER

You can probably pick out a handful of stars on the main roster right now where it’s a genuine surprise to see that they’re still employed, but you wouldn’t have thought that one of their current and most over stars was previously in danger of being cut.

Down on NXT, Enzo Amore and Big Cass were an energetic and charismatic duo that helped shape the brand what it is today, despite never winning championship gold during their time there.

You could tell by the reaction they received from the Monday Night RAW crowd on their very first night on the main roster just how popular they are, but it could have been so different based on comments Triple H made when speaking to ESPN.

Triple h revealed that on numerous occasions the trainers at the Performance Centre told The Game to cut Enzo, as he wasn’t a valuable asset, but he and Dusty Rhodes kept him on.

GOLD ON THE MIC

He said: “There’s been guys that have made it that over the course of a couple of years that were constantly on the cut list.

“Enzo Amore, when I brought him in, everyone at the tryout was saying, ‘Get rid of this kid!’ I was like, ‘He’s got a huge personality. If he can annoy us all this bad here, imagine what he can do on TV.’

“Every time he’d get his review, they’d be like, ‘I’d cut him.’ Dusty [Rhodes] and I would be like, ‘Keep him.’

“Look at him now. Is he ever going to make you money from an in-ring performer standpoint? Probably not. But he’s money on the mic.”

They’re certainly interesting comments that Triple H has made, especially when he’s admitted what many people are thinking – Enzo is just not that good in the ring.

It could be a worrying time ahead for him too, especially since the reaction isn’t as strong as it was at one point, whereas the current act on the microphone is getting stale.

Despite that, it’s now hard to imagine what RAW would be like without Enzo dropping hilarious jokes on a weekly basis.
