Last season, the Golden State Warriors flirted with history during the course of the regular season and clinched a historic mark by winning 73 games to eclipse Michael Jordan and the Bulls 72-10 record in the 1996 season. They dazzled the entire year and their best player, Stephen Curry, became the first-ever unanimous MVP in NBA History for his gaudy shooting totals over the course of their 2016 campaign. His 403 three pointers stands as the most threes ever registered over the course of the season and the only player that could currently hope to eclipse that is Curry himself in another season. With Kevin Durant in tow this season, his production has slipped, but the wins have kept rolling right in for the Bay Area club. Stephen Curry is one of the most highly discussed players in the entire NBA and for good reason. On a nightly basis, he puts on shooting clinics against the best athletes in the entire sport and often times scores effortlessly.

Last year’s unanimous MVP is set apart from other players in the league because of his talent and skill shooting the basketball. He and his Golden State Warriors teammates have broken the math behind the game with their shooting touch.

This season, teams are shooting more three pointers than ever, which follows two straight years of the exact same phenomenon happening across the league. After besting the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, they improved to 60-14.

Three straight seasons with 60 wins is a tall order for a team and that mark puts them into some elite company in NBA history. Golden State became the first team since Michael Jordan’s Bulls to register three straight 60-win seasons.

The good news hasn’t stopped rolling in for the Dubs as their coach, and member of His Airness’ squads, became the fastest coach in North American sports history to register 200 wins.

Now, the only thing left is for the team to seal the deal in the NBA Finals after a disappointing end to last season. After KD’s injury the team has surged and looked more like themselves over the last two weeks.

Joe Lacob said that his club was “lightyears ahead” last season and while he took some flak from that proclamation, the roster is going out and dominating almost every night.

They might not be that far ahead of the Spurs in the standings, but Golden State is managing to leave their mark on the league in ways that even San Antonio hasn’t been able to match.
