Nathaniel Clyne has come a long way in a short space of time. Having emerged from the famed Crystal Palace youth academy, he has gone on to carve out a solid career for himself with both Liverpool and England.

Now 25, his peak years are on the way soon, but it wasn't that long ago that he earned himself a reputation as one of the country's most exciting youngsters.

Apparently, he could do it all. Running, tackling, tracking, dribbling and crossing were all in his locker and following his impressive performances at Southampton, nobody batted an eyelid when he finally got the move to Anfield.

Since arriving on Merseyside, he's been dependable if not spectacular and has so far amassed a total of 84 appearances across all competitions.

However, one fan clearly isn't impressed with his efforts and has gone to the trouble of putting together a huge Twitter thread of all his defensive errors.

The best thing about this is that he seems to be arguing against Clyne being better than Tottenham's Kyle Walker, and he's not even a Spurs fan – he supports Liverpool!

Walker was picked by England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of Clyne for the Three Lions' games over this past week, with some fans arguing that the Liverpool man should have got the nod instead.

But this fan, known as Sam, wasn't having any of it.

Fair play to him for his commitment on this, but some of the examples he picks are perhaps a little harsh, so we're not sure exactly why Clyne has upset him so much.

Jurgen Klopp doesn't seem too displeased with his performances, though, as he has been an ever-present for Liverpool, turning out 32 times.

What do you think, though? Is Clyne overrated, or is he doing just fine in a Liverpool side that needs a bit of fine-tuning?
