Injuries are part and parcel of the business in the WWE, they’re unfortunate but they happen and that was the case earlier this week on Monday Night RAW.

There was an entertaining segment involving three of RAW’s best tag teams, which all kicked off backstage after Sheamus and Cesaro were ambushed by the current tag team champions, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of The Club.

INJURY

Action then spilt to ramp and then the ring when the unlikely duo of the Swiss and the Irishman returned the favour by attacking them with a ladder, and then turning their attention to Enzo Amore and Big Cass in the middle of the ring.

However, Sheamus was in for a nasty shock when he tried to attack Big Cass.

As he went for a Brogue Kick on the corner – while the ladder was leaning on the seven-foot tall giant, Big Cass threw the ladder into his face, leaving Sheamus with a genuine injury as he rolled out of the ring and away from the cameras.

16 STITCHES

It was later revealed on social media that Sheamus would need 16 stitches for the injury just above his right eye, but looks good to go in a match which has now turned into a triple threat ladder match for the titles – and if rumours are to be believed, you may even catch a glimpse of The Hardy Boyz in Orlando on April 2.

Sheamus has taken to his Instagram in a series of updates, showing off the progress he has made.

His first was showing his deep cut in all its glory, and posted: “The Road to #WrestleMania stained with Irish blood…we’ll fight on brother…and take the glory. #RAW @wwecesaro.”

The Celtic Warrior then showed off the aftermath, and the stitches that will probably still be visible on Sunday, he posted: “Walking under a ladder is bad luck. Turns out, running into one ain’t so lucky either…16 stitches & my own personal logo for #Mania.”

Another update was posted not long after, again showing off the progress of the cut and told his followers: “Shiner coming along nicely…natural warpaint. Don’t dare call me Harry Potter or there will be Brogues.”

As expected, fans wasted no time in putting Sheamus’ image alongside a young Harry Potter, and the resemblance is uncanny.

He’s lucky that ladder didn’t hit any lower, otherwise his place in the WrestleMania match could have been in serious jeopardy, but it’s good to see he’s recovering well and remaining in high spirits.
