Kurt Angle is days away from being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame, and he took the time to thank the people who made the moment possible.
Angle posted a heartfelt thank you to the fans who supported him during his career, noting that even when he was hated as a "bad guy," he's very thankful about having the chance to make that kind of connection with the crowd and everyone watching at home.
Angle's brilliance was more than his in-ring mastery, but how he was able to pivot whichever way the WWE pointed him with his character. He was a goofy baby face, neutral hyper-competitor and cocky heel, but he was always entertaining no matter the... angle.
"It was never my goal to be inducted into the HOF but I’m very proud that I will be included among the greatest names in history," Angle wrote on his personal website, KurtAngleBrand.com.
"To be honest, my induction isn’t about me. It’s about the millions of fans I have entertained over the years. It’s about YOU. If it weren’t for all of you, I wouldn’t be celebrating this huge honor on Friday," Angle wrote.
Kurt's had no shortage of entertaining moments. Whether it's the amazing matches he's put on throughout his career, the hilarious moments and any number of memories he's given fans around the world, Angle has been one of the greatest to ever do it.
John Cena will be the man inducting Angle into the Hall of Fame, which in itself should be a great moment. Once Angle takes the stage and gets to fully soak in not only his return to the WWE, but enshrinement into wrestling immortality, it should only get better.
It will unquestionably be a great Hall of Fame ceremony, with the only question looming being what comes next for Angle and the WWE. Speculation and rumors lead to the conclusion that he'll be the next RAW general manager, but for now, fans get to enjoy the return.
"When I give my speech on Friday, I want every WWE/Kurt Angle fan to know how grateful I am for this incredible night. YOU are the reason my name will be in the history books for eternity," Angle wrote.
"I’m glad that I was able to entertain you. And whether you loved me or hated me (whether I was a good guy or bad guy) I’m very thankful that I had that connection with you. So thank you!!!!! It’s damn true."
WrestleMania Friday night is going to be another memorable moment with Angle for fans. It's true, it's damn true.
