It's been a strange week for Argentina. Having beaten Chile 1-0 to keep a grip on a qualifying spot for next year's World Cup, they saw their star man slapped with a hefty four-match ban just hours before they took on Bolivia in their follow up fixture.Messi was slapped with the ban for apparently swearing at one of the match officials. The incident wasn't included in the initial referee's report and was written up after, leading some to believe that foul play was afoot. That meant the Barcelona forward missed out on the Bolivia fixture, as the suspension was effective immediately, and upon reviewing some of the footage, they really could have done with him being out there. In recent years, Bolivia has proved a difficult place for the stars in the Argentinian side to go and play. In 2009 on the road to the World Cup in South Africa the following year the minnows managed to overturn the Albiceleste (with Messi) by a scoreline of 6-1.The country can be difficult to play in given the harsh conditions regarding the altitude, and on that day a number of Argentina's players were seen struggling to breath and using oxygen tanks. However, despite that, considering the gulf in class between the two teams it is still an embarrassing scoreline for Messi and his teammates to suffer. So it was perhaps no surprise to see them fall to goals from Juan Carlos Arce and Marcelo Martins earlier this week. With the furore surrounding Messi's ban plus the difficult conditions, Argentina really struggled in La Paz.Since then, a video put together by a Twitter user has emerged showing just how bad they were on the night, and this was not a particularly weak side either.

As you can see, players like Angel Di Maria struggled with passing, while almost all of them to a man were unable to control the ball.

The less said about their defending for the first goal the better.

Quite simply it was a stinker of a performance and if they are unable to overturn or reduce Messi's ban, then they could really struggle to make it to Russia.
