Michael Bisping has had a busy week after declaring an ultimatum for the UFC middleweight title. He told Georges St-Pierre ad Yoel Romero that one of them had something to look forward to if things broke their way.

For St-Pierre, it is simple, fight Bisping in July and he will have both his dramatic return to the sport and a shot at the title. Or, Yoel Romero will get his long awaited shot at the belt if the current situation cannot be resolved in a timely fashion.

The camp would later tell his audience that he was more frustrated with the process on his SiriusXM radio show. He explained what exactly has been going on since the press conference announcing the fight.

Rumors place the fight somewhere around July 8th at UFC 213 in Las Vegas, but besides that introductory press conference, nothing has come to pass. Bisping has said multiple times that there might be some other weight-based motivations GSP to stall this fight.

Often the champion has pointed toward an effort to bulk up on the part of his challenger. Now, The Count has formed a concrete idea of what all the silence surrounding this fight means.

Bisping said: “Here’s what I think GSP’s plan is. He comes back, he fights me, he beats me. In the time that takes, Demian Maia beats Jorge Masvidal then he fights Tyron Woodley. [St-Pierre] believes - because he said this - that Maia beats Woodley.

“Then, from him fighting me, he fights Maia, relinquishes the 185-pound belt, then he goes for the 170 belt. He fights Maia because stylistically it’s a good fight for him because Georges is a great wrestler and he’s very, very accomplished at jiu-jitsu.

“Then from there - he’s spoke about this - then he’s gonna relinquish that and then fight Conor McGregor for the lightweight belt. That is his master plan, I guarantee it. And if he can pull it off, then he would definitely go down as the greatest mixed martial arts fighter in history.”

Such a scheme would be the most intricate plan for a man making his return to the sport after a lengthy absence. The current champion is correct in saying that the path laid out for his competitor would give him an argument as the greatest MMA fighter ever.

The plan is one thing, but GSP would have to beat Bisping and then face another challenger before Conor McGregor. If it were to happen, it would be the biggest MMA bout of all time.
