Northampton must get something at Leeds on the final day of the season or hope results go their way if they are to avoid the drop after a 1-0 defeat to MK Dons.

A solitary goal from Aaron Wilbraham condemned the Cobblers to the defeat which means they still need a point to guarantee their League One status.

MK Dons bossed the first half as Sam Baldock missed a sitter and then Jason Crowe cleared off the line from Mark Wright before Wilbraham got the only goal in the 34th minute turning home a cross from Jason Puncheon.

Scunthorpe eased back into the top six with a comfortable 3-0 win against already-relegated Cheltenham.

It means just a point from their final day clash with Tranmere would be enough to secure a play-off place.

They took control with two goals in four minutes just before half time as first Paul Hayes made it 20 for the season with a close-range finish after 36 minutes, and then skipper Cliff Byrne doubled the lead by drilling home an angled shot for just his third goal for the club.
