Stalling career

Rewind seven years and Wilshere is the best thing since sliced bread. The youngster has cemented his place in the Arsenal first team and repeatedly unlocked Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona with his youthful skill.

Come 2017, though, and to say the 25-year-old has failed to live up to the hype would be putting it mildly. After all, few could have imagined that the Englishman would have been plying his trade with Bournemouth.

The Cherries are certainly nothing to be sniffed at, but it proves rather underwhelming when you consider he was tipped to be at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield for years to come.

One of the most damaging impacts has proven injuries. As a result, Wilshere hasn’t amassed over 30 appearances in a single season in over three years.

Furthermore, for all his gradual improvements at the Vitality Stadium, the 25-year-old has picked up more yellow cards this season than he has goals and assists combined. Ouch.

Consequently, Wilshere’s next destination is completely up in the air and it’s becoming increasingly doubtful that Arsenal will take on the midfielder again. As harsh as it is, the Englishman simply hasn’t done enough to justify the decision.

Ramsey activity

The best thing for an Arsenal player to do at this point would be to either support their ex-teammate or simply stay out of the situation. What you don’t do is encourage criticism of the star and we’re look at you Mr. Ramsey.

On Instagram, a fan posted the comment ‘I’d rather him stay fit’ on an upload that stated that: ‘Jack Wilshere at Bournemouth is proof that class is permenant.’

Pretty normal, right? Less so when you consider that the random comment received the support and like of Ramsey himself. The proof can be seen below:

It can only be imagined that the Welshman either made a mistake or didn’t expect his subtle antics to be so swiftly uncovered. Besides, Wilshere’s injury problems are no laughing matter and can be seen as derailing his entire career.

Hopefully though, as the comment hopes, Wilshere does maintain his fitness and returns to the form that launched him to fame back in 2010. It’s clear that the midfielder has the talent to return to Arsenal fit and firing, after all.

Anyway, Ramsey can’t exactly talk seeing how his and the Gunners’ season has panned out so far. The 26-year-old has scored just twice this campaign and one came against Lincoln City – so who should really be receiving the criticism?
