Liverpool continued their brilliant record against Everton with a 3-1 win over their Merseyside rivals this afternoon.Goals from Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi handed the hosts all three points in a hotly-contested derby.Everton have now beaten Liverpool just once in their past 21 Premier League counters, a win that came in 2010. The Reds have emerged victorious in each of the past three meetings.Matthew Pennington equalised for Ronald Koeman’s side after Mane’s opener but Everton were level for just three minutes. It was a miserable way to respond after the international break.That said, Jurgen Klopp will have mixed feelings this evening. Mane and Emre Can both picked up injuries - Mane’s forced him to leave the match prematurely - and Liverpool’s bid to finish in the top four will be hurt if the Senegalese is out for a long time.Liverpool were also fortunate that Dejan Lovren wasn’t seriously hurt after he was on the receiving end of an awful tackle from Ross Barkley.The Everton midfielder, 23, got on the wrong side of Liverpool supporters with a nasty tackle on Jordan Henderson in the first meeting between the teams this season, and it didn’t take him long to draw the ire of the home crowd this time around.

His tackle was appalling. Barkley caught Lovren on the ankle and was lucky to escape with just a yellow card.
